Foundry Training, Collaboration, and a Few Corvette Laps at Road America

Last week, industry leaders and foundry professionals gathered for an unforgettable two-day training event at the iconic Road America racetrack in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Co-hosted by Simpson Technologies, Saint-Gobain North America, Inductotherm Corp., Foseco, and MAGMA Foundry Technologies, Inc., the event was a powerful showcase of collaboration, education, and industry support.

With over 50 attendees representing 21 foundries, the seminar brought together a diverse cross-section of the metalcasting community. Participants engaged in in-depth technical sessions, open dialogue, and practical discussions aimed at solving today’s most pressing foundry challenges.

Each speaker provided technical insights and shared best practices and on topics such as:

  • Furnace operation and maintenance
  • Refractory selection and installation
  • Gating and risering
  • Tooling design
  • Sand cooling and reclamation
  • Process control and sustainability

These sessions equipped attendees with actionable knowledge to implement in their own operations.

And of course, it wouldn’t be Road America without a little speed—participants also enjoyed hot laps in Corvettes, adding a thrilling highlight to two days of learning and connection.
