FAQ
Which products should be utilized in the hearth zone?
A wide range of products is available to optimize the service life of each zone including the stack, melting zone, hearth zone and slag zone. NORRAM™ A 5828, NORFLOW® A 973, and pressed bricks (Cryston® CN-806 and Refrax®) have demonstrated excellent performance when utilized in the hearth zone.
Which types of bricks are recommended for cupola furnace lining?
The choice of bricks for cupola lining is highly dependent on customer habits and preferences, with silicon nitride (SiC) bonded products proving a popular choice for severe operating conditions associated with iron and steel applications. Refrax®, Cryston® CN-806, CN-737 and CN-790 have been specifically optimized to protect cupola furnaces from corrosion and erosion, extending furnace service life and ensuring efficient operation.
