FAQ
What is plastic cement used for?
NORPLAST™ plastic refractories can be used to repair cracks that occur during melting in the furnace aggregate. Plastic mixes are often used to shape the spout or topping of furnaces because they are easy to apply and will remain in place, even if a relatively thick layer is applied. NORPLAST™ A 90 PF is popular with a wide range of customers. Its optimized raw materials ensure a soft and easy-to-use product, ensuring extended shelf life, time savings and reduced downtime.
How is plastic refractory installation carried out?
NORPLAST™ plastic refractories can be applied by hand with a trowel or using specialized tools such as pneumatic hammers
What plastic mass should be used in iron melting applications that already employ a mullite-based refractory lining in the furnace and transport ladle?
The mullite-based NORPLAST™ M 70 PF helps to preserve the homogeneity of the original lining while being easy to apply and offering an excellent shelf life.
