All refractory products are not the same. While all require high chemical corrosion resistance for this application, only Saint-Gobain has the ability to develop, design and supply refractory bricks and linings made of chromia or alumina that best fit the operating demands for all zones of your reactor.
Coal and petroleum coke gasification linings must be able to withstand high temperature, high pressure, corrosive slags and atmosphere, as well as a variety of feedstocks.
Saint-Gobain has provided superior refractory lining designs and materials for high-pressure coal and petroleum coke gasifiers for more than 55 years. Exceptional shape-forming capability, dimensional accuracy, quality, consistency, strength and purity are hallmarks of Saint-Gobain materials and design that result in refractory linings with superior and reliable service life.
Saint-Gobain also offers refractory installation supervision and technical support for lining inspection and problem solving. Saint-Gobain materials have been tested, validated and approved by most major technology suppliers.
As the industry leader since the late 1970s, Saint-Gobain has developed and patented a complete range of chromium oxide-alumina-zirconia refractories, marketed as Zirchrom®, refractories for the hot face layer. Several compositions especially engineered for low or high wear areas are available. These products offer high slag infiltration and chemical corrosion resistance as well as advanced thermal shock resistance, which are key factors for quick operations response and outage time control. These products are continually improved by the company’s ongoing commitment to research and development.
Chromium-oxide Zirchrom® bricks have been installed as hot face material, whereas alumina-chrome Chromcor® 12 and andalusite-based MS6 mullite bricks are available for the back-up layers. Bubble alumina RI 34 or Alundum® AN599 insulating fire bricks are used for thermal insulation.
