Material Description and Applications

Overview

Saint-Gobain’s refractory linings for carbon black reactors are custom-engineered for high performance in hot face and backup layers. The product range includes fired or precast chrome-alumina bricks, high purity alumina bricks, Mullfrax® and AL102 bricks, Zirnorite® Zirconia bricks, fused-cast Jargal M shapes, and various insulating and dense castables. These materials ensure superior performance in high-temperature and erosive environments, making them ideal for tread and carcass black reactors.

Chrome-alumina bricks offer hot mechanical strength, making them suitable for high-stress areas. High-purity alumina bricks provide excellent erosion and thermal shock resistance. Mullfrax® bricks are notable for their high thermal shock resistance, while Zirnorite® Zirconia bricks excel in chemical and erosion resistance, making them suitable for high-temperature zones. Fused-cast Jargal M shapes deliver maximum erosion resistance due to their robust composition.
